Sam is originally from Manitoba, Canada where he graduated from the University of Manitoba with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and a concentration in Conservation and Biodiversity. During his undergraduate studies, Sam assisted in several agro-environmental research projects with the Manitoba Department of Agriculture and Resource Development as well as Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). After graduating, he moved to California to become an Agricultural Biologist with the El Dorado County Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures where he coordinated the department's invasive weed eradication program. Sam is excited to get started at UC Davis where he plans to specialize in both Conservation Management and Spatial Information Science.
