Confirming your application is complete

After you have submitted your online application and other application materials, you can check the status of your application by logging in to our online application portal using instructions that were provided to you via email. This portal is where you can see which required materials have been received. Please allow us time to receive and review your materials before contacting us to inquire about the status of your application.

Admissions process overview

Once our admissions deadline has passed, we immediately begin work to process and review each completed application. We do not do early review for applications that are submitted significantly before the deadline.

Generally, the EPM Admissions Committee will meet in the beginning of February to decide admissions and fellowship recommendations. These recommendations are then entered into our application system, approved by the EPM Admissions Committee Chair and are submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies for final review. The final admissions decisions rest with the dean of Graduate Studies.

Once our recommendations are sent to Graduate Studies, their review and processing time ranges from 1-3 weeks. Generally, admissions decisions for applicants who apply by January 15th are sent out mid to late February.

This entire process is repeated for our April 15 deadline, if there is space available. Admissions decisions for applicants who apply by the April 15th deadline are usually sent out mid to late May.

These are general time frames and are subject to change. Admissions are handled by Graduate Studies one-by-one. As a result, admissions letters span a range of dates and do not go out as a batch.

Applicants with less than a 3.0 GPA

An exception to the timeline listed above is for applicants that have less than a 3.0 GPA. Graduate Studies requires an additional review process if our recommendation is to admit the applicant. The program prepares a waiver request that states why the program thinks that the applicant is equipped to handle the graduate program. The Dean of Graduate Studies makes a final decision. This usually takes significantly longer than the timeline listed above. These applicants may receive their admissions decision anytime between March and April.

Notification of Decision

You will receive your admissions decision via email, and will be prompted to check your online application portal. Admissions decisions are admit, decline or waitlist. Waitlisted students should receive further notification by the end of March. Graduate admissions no longer sends out paper admissions letters. Please check your email address frequently, including your junk or spam folder for updates.

Fellowship Offers

If you have received a fellowship offer, you will be notified directly by email through your application portal. The email will include your offer letter. We send offer letters as quickly as possible after you receive your admissions notification.  If you do not receive a fellowship, you will not be notified.
