About

The Graduate Program of Environmental Policy and Management offers two optional mentorship programs, EPM Connect matches students with a professional mentor and the Student Partnership Program connects first-year students with a second-year student. We highly encourage students to participate in one or both of these programs to maximize their experience at UC Davis.

EPM Connect

The purpose of EPM Connect is to provide students with opportunities to develop professional skills, identify career pathways, and widen their professional networks. This mentorship program is designed to be another pillar of support as a student navigates graduate school.

There are many benefits for students and mentors alike. As a mentor, you can play a pivotal role in the success and development of your mentee. This is a great opportunity to guide the next generation of environmental leaders.

Professional Mentor expectations

  • As relevant, provide the student with constructive feedback.
  • As possible, invite the student to opportunities where they can further their professional development.
  • As you are comfortable, connect your student with relevant professional contacts.
  • Reasonably prioritize email correspondence from the student.

How it works
  • The program will survey students to identify interest.
  • The program will match students based on various criteria.
