Job Description
The City of Sacramento's Long Range Planning Team is seeking a motivated, organized, and collaborative intern to support our work in making the City a national model of sustainable, equitable growth, and community development.Ideal candidates are self-starters who are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and who bring an interest or skills in policy, graphics, inclusive community engagement, housing, or related topics. Candidates must be proficient in research and writing, able to analyze data, and capable of producing clear, thoughtful summaries for a general audience. They should be comfortable engaging with members of the public in a respectful and inclusive way and must also be willing and able to work nights and weekends to help with community engagement events. They will be expected to work in the office at least one day a week and participate in team meetings. The intern will be provided with a supervisor who will provide guidance, some training, and feedback on deliverables. Some of the potential projects include:• Research and community input related to planning issuesin North Sacramento, focused in the Robla neighborhood.• Support community engagement efforts related to theRiver District Specific Plan Update. This could includesupporting and helping facilitate community engagementactivities, developing graphics, taking notes, andsummarizing a range of input into clear statements to aidpolicy development.• Other tasks/projects, as needed

Mandatory Qualification

Applicants must be currently enrolled and attending an accredited California college or university and must maintain a minimum of 6 semester units (or quarter equivalent) and an overall GPA of 2.0
