Job Description

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), a Washington DC based trade association represents the nation’s nearly one million workers in the plastics industry. PLASTICS is actively searching for a Program Coordinator of Sustainability to provide program support including member onboarding and development for the Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) program. OCS is an industry-led program that supports companies in their goal towards achieving zero plastic resin loss in operations.

Responsibilities:

Member On-boarding, Engagement, & Development

  • Provide staff support and assistance to facilitate outreach and recruitment of new members.
  • Work with PLASTICS team members to identify opportunities for outreach and recruitment.
  • Coordinate with the Finance and Accounting team to generate invoices and track payments for new members and to support annual and renewal outreach processes.
  • Maintain membership and committee records, distribution lists, etc. in the association management database (iMIS).
  • Manage recordkeeping and associated deliverables related to membership and training.
  • Work closely with Council and Committee staff leads to communicate the resources and activities available to PLASTICS members.

Website & Resources

  • Add new OCS Blue Verifiers and ASPs/consultants to OCS website as needed.
  • Work with OCS staff, the Events and Marketing team, to manage assets (e.g., logos, documents, publications)
  • Work with OCS staff and members to develop periodic OCS blogs and member Q&A’s.

Communications & Marketing

  • Work with OCS staff to review, delegate, and triage general OCS inbox.
  • Work with the Communications team to announce new OCS members on social media.
  • Manage OCS Newsletters deliverables to ensure on time completion and consistent communication with program members.

Meeting & Event Management

  • Facilitate scheduling meetings, writing minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Support the Events & Marketing team to track deliverables and support planning for OCS events and webinars.
  • Mange speaker logistics such as collecting and follow-up for speaker contracts, headshots, and bios.
