Organization
Peninsula Open Space Trust
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION OR PURPOSE OF POSITION
POST is offering a flexible internship opportunity (either 6 months at 40 hours per week or 12 months at 20 hours per week) in support of POST’s work to preserve open space across the San Francisco Peninsula and South Bay. This is a terrific opportunity to gain experience in the nonprofit sector with a nationally recognized land conservation organization. The intern will become part of and contribute to a high-functioning team and gain insights into how land trusts and our public agency partners identify, acquire, and protect properties to achieve regional conservation goals.
The Land Transactions Intern position is responsible for supporting many aspects of POST’s land protection work, including the identification of project opportunities that further POST’s conservation goals and the continued growth and improvement of project tracking tools and records. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Real Property and Projects, and works closely with the Real Estate Specialist. This position also actively collaborates with the Land Transactions Coordinator, and supports other members of the Transactions team and Land Department.
POST is currently a combined remote and hybrid workplace, and our policy regarding hybrid work schedules continues to evolve. We expect to maintain flexibility regarding schedules and hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate for this job must live within a reasonable commuting distance to POST’s Palo Alto office, and lands on the San Francisco Peninsula and in the South Bay, to facilitate regular attendance at meetings and for land transaction site visits.
