Job Description

The Electrification Coalition (EC) is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit advocacy group based in Washington, D.C. committed to promoting policies and actions that facilitate the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) on a mass scale. The EC works to end the oil dependence that threatens the nation’s economic, environmental, and national security by working towards the long-term solution of electrifying transportation. The Programs Intern will provide support to the EC’s Programs team, which advances transportation electrification through technical support to fleets, the curation and presentation of informational content, and charging infrastructure planning.

  • Position: Programs Intern
  • Location requirements: 100% remote (DC office space available)
  • Work authorization requirements: Legally able to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (ICRA)
  • Compensation: $18 per hour
  • Hours per week: 20 hours per week
  • Start date: December 2024 (flexible)
  • Length: 3-month minimum commitment

 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Engage Stakeholders and Partners: Facilitate collaboration with key stakeholders and partners to advocate for the widespread adoption of EVs, fostering strong relationships and aligning efforts to promote EV initiatives.
  • Conduct Electric Transportation Research: Perform in-depth research on various electric transportation topics, including new electric vehicle models, charging infrastructure deployment, innovative program implementation, battery recycling, and mineral supply chain trends to support grant reports, presentations, and policy development.
  • Assist in Content Creation: Contribute to the writing and creation of program briefs, research reports, newsletter content, and outreach materials, ensuring accurate and compelling communication of e-mobility programs and initiatives.
  • Complete Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data related to fleet assessments, emissions estimates, market trends, and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making and strategy development.
  • Support Event Coordination: Aid in the planning, coordination, and organization of both internal and external events and meetings, ensuring seamless execution and effective engagement with participants.

You have:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated the ability to collaborate with colleagues and outside organizations and be able to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing the quality of work.
  • The ability to work at a fast pace under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Great research skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with administrative assistance, including coordination and organization of meetings.
  • Experience with tracking program progress and contacts with stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and learn other diverse roles.

 

You might also have:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Passion for analytics, including data interpretation, analysis, and data visualization.
  • Some college or bachelor’s degree (undergrad and graduate students are welcome to apply).
  • Demonstrated editing and proofreading abilities.
  • A working understanding of and proficiency with Microsoft programs, especially Excel.
  • Internet savviness—experience with software including WordPress or Canva.
  • A flexible schedule.
