Bio

Yalin graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S in Environmental Science and a minor in Biology. During her time in undergrad, Yalin worked as a research assistant in Dr. Kelly Sutherland’s lab on the MEZCAL project which focuses on mesozooplankton food webs in the intermittent upwelling system, as well as partook in various leadership roles including being the Events Coordinator for the Affiliated Students for Undergraduate Research and Engagement (ASURE). During the summer between undergrad and starting the EPM program, Yalin was part of the Oregon Sea Grant where she worked as an Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia intern for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. With her interest in conservation and science communication, particularly in the aquatic environment, she plans to specialize in Conservation Management and Marine Resource Management.
