Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, Saurabh received a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Rice University. He then worked at a manufacturing facility in Baytown, Texas where his projects focused on sustainability in the utility space such as wastewater treatment and steam decarbonization. Eager to help create a more sustainable future for all, Saurabh joined the EPM program and specialized in both City & Regional Planning and Energy & Transportation Planning. He is passionate about working at a local level to create sustainable urban environments, and his professional work has focused in decarbonizing the building sector.
While in graduate school, he worked for the Office of Climate Action and Sustainability at the City of Sacramento. His projects focused on building electrification policy research and waste management. After graduating, Saurabh joined the Office of Sustainability and Environment at the City of Seattle as the Clean Heat Coordinator. He runs the Clean Heat program which helps residents decarbonize their homes. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, birdwatching, and spending time outdoors.
