Sarah graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay with a B.S. in Marine Science with a minor in mathematics. While at CSUMB, she conducted research on marine reserve protection worldwide and volunteered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium. In the Environmental Policy and Management program, she specialized in Marine Resource Management with an ultimate goal of working in a California environmental institution to address coastal conservation and climate change issues as well as work to bridge the gap between science, policy, and the public.
Sarah graduated the EPM program in June 2020 and began work as a 2021 California Sea Grant Fellow working with the Delta Stewardship Council Planning and Performance Division on climate resilience and adaptation and water resources management. Following this, she moved into the role of Fisheries Scientist with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program where she continues to work to assess the sustainability of wild caught fisheries worldwide as part of an effort to encourage more sustainable commercial fishing practices.
