EPM Instructor, Dr. Julianne McCall, Named the Next CEO of CCST

Congratulations to Julianne McCall, PhD, who was recently named as the next CEO of the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST). As CEO, McCall will serve as the liaison to state and national leaders in policy, philanthropy and science and technology related issues.

McCall currently serves as the Director of Precision Medicine at the Governor's Office of Planning and Research, where she oversees cross-sector health policy working groups and projects, research grantmaking and state government interagency efforts. She has taught ENV 202: Policy Implementation and Development at UC Davis in the Environmental Policy and Management program since 2021. This course covers the policy process from developing and enacting legislation, regulation development and review and implementation of new laws. McCall expertly blends theory, applied study and engagement with current policy professionals, preparing students with critical skills for their future careers.
