Bio

Junyan is from China. She graduated from Fudan University with a B.S. in Biology Science and an M.S. in Ecology, where she studied artificial salt marsh as alternative habitats for birds. After graduation, she turned to community-based conservation, working with local communities to develop a community-based natural resource conservation system and explore alternative livelihoods in the Three-river-source area on the Tibetan plateau. She also used to work for the Wildlife Conservation Society and Research Institute of Wetland in China. She is interested in pursuing a career to promote long-term conservation engaging with local communities.
