Bio

Payton Reil graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a minor in Politics. Her academic interests include sustainable agriculture, state policy, and environmental justice. During her undergraduate studies, Payton served as her campus’s Sustainability Intern, where she developed strategies to reduce student waste, supported campus-wide sustainability initiatives, and led outreach efforts to promote environmental stewardship. Most recently, she worked as a Student Advisor, supporting young adults with learning differences and serving as a liaison between students and government agencies to help them access resources and services. Payton is currently pursuing the Environmental Policy and Management program at the University of California, Davis, where she aims to strengthen her leadership and management skills while expanding her expertise in environmental policy. She plans to specialize in sustainable agriculture. In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Payton serves as an Outreach Coordinator for the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP), where she focuses on building connections among environmental professionals from diverse backgrounds and fostering engagement within the field. She also volunteers with local food banks, contributing to efforts to reduce food insecurity and support underserved communities.
