Job Description

An exciting research opportunity is available with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Climate Hubs in Davis, California. ARS is dedicated to addressing agricultural challenges, providing cutting-edge tools and solutions for American farmers and communities. The USDA Climate Hubs aim to deliver region-specific climate information and technologies for agricultural and natural resource managers. The research project focuses on addressing the impact of climate change on California's forests and shrublands, with an emphasis on increasing wildfire resilience.

 

The selected fellow will engage in stakeholder workshops, synthesize research for landowners, and develop training programs. This fellowship provides an opportunity to work on pressing challenges, collaborate with experts, and gain knowledge in diverse disciplines. The mentor for this opportunity is Steven Ostoja. The appointment is full-time, and the stipend ranges from $6,400 to $7,600 per month. U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, and foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This program is administered by ORAU through an interagency agreement between DOE and ARS, and participants do not become USDA employees.
