Sophia earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with concentrations in International Business and Management and a minor in Climate Change & Sustainability. Prior to joining the EPM program, she spent four years at the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative supporting graduate education, experiential learning, and cross-sector partnerships focused on climate and sustainability. That experience strengthened her interest in the intersection of sustainability, management, strategy, and decision-making, inspiring her to pursue graduate study to build a stronger technical foundation in climate science and environmental policy. Sophia is interested in systems thinking and understanding the human and organizational processes that influence how climate science is communicated, interpreted, and implemented. She hopes to make technical climate science more understandable and usable beyond technical fields, enabling the people and organizations shaping policy, industry, and communities to make informed, science-based decisions.
