Shyenne Lewis

Shyenne earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Sacramento State University in 2020. She began her career at the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) as an Environmental Scientist, where she conducted hazardous waste inspections and contributed to regulatory revisions. Currently, she serves as an Environmental Scientist at CalRecycle, where she serves as the departments liaison to Environmental Justice communities across California and co-leads the department’s racial equity initiatives. Through the EPM program, Shyenne hopes to deepen her understanding of how to meaningfully integrate equity and environmental burdens into policy, ensuring that all communities are considered in decision-making processes.
