Bio
Ho-Hsiang “Shine” Hsiao graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning, emphasizing Energy and Transportation Planning, and a minor in Economics. Originally from Taiwan, she is now based in San Francisco. Her academic interests include climate change policy and environmental data science. Shine is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) specializing in Building Design + Construction (BD+C), with experience in green building consulting and environmental compliance. She has guided industrial developments through the full LEED certification process, achieving Gold LEED ratings for textile factories in Bangladesh. Her compliance work spans across the United States, including NEPA and Section 106 reviews, SHPO coordination, Phase I ESAs, and more. Through the EPM graduate program at UC Davis, Shine is developing the technical, analytical, and policy skills to lead data-driven environmental solutions and advance sustainability in the private and public sectors. She also serves as an event coordinator for the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP), supporting student engagement with environmental professionals through panels, workshops, and networking opportunities.
