Nahal G. Ipakchi

Nahal G. Ipakchi is the Founding Principal of Interwoven Strategies, a climate and community resilience consulting practice supporting governments, nonprofits, Tribes, and cross-sector partnerships in advancing equitable, community-driven solutions. With nearly two decades of experience in climate resilience, environmental justice, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative governance, Nahal helps partners navigate complex challenges through strategic facilitation, partnership development, grant strategy, and inclusive community engagement. Her current work includes coordinating the Southeastern Partnership for Forests and Water, supporting her local Disaster Preparedness Neighborhood Network in Berkeley, providing fundraising support, capacity-building, and leadership trainings for community-based organizations, leading community engagement and design charrettes for a resilience hubs and networks, supporting community outreach and education for shoreline resilience efforts across the Bay Area and the state, and developing community-led needs and assets assessments for equitable water infrastructure investments.

The first in her family to be born in the United States after her parents immigrated from Iran, Nahal’s lived experience shapes her commitment to inclusive, equitable, and sustainable community-led climate solutions. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College, where her thesis focused on Tribal leadership in watershed climate resilience planning. Nahal is Co-Founder of Women’s Climate Commons and serves on the Board of Directors for The Watershed Project in Richmond, CA.
