May Myo Myint is a dynamic young professional from Myanmar with over 7 years of experience in the environmental sector. She graduated from Myanmar Maritime University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture and began her environmental career at Myanmar Koei International Ltd. During graduate school, May worked with the California Product Stewardship Council, where she engaged in the legislative process of SB 707: the Responsible Textile Recovery Act, and co-led textile circularity pilot projects across California. Additionally, she worked with CalRecycle for her group policy clinic project that explored the opportunities and challenges of using AI and robotics in material recovery processes to support the implementation of SB 54, a law aimed at reducing single-use plastics through extended producer responsibility.
Currently, May is an Air Quality Specialist in the Compliance & Enforcement division at the Bay Area Air District.
