Bio

May Myo Myint is a dynamic youth from Myanmar with five years of experience in the environmental sector. In 2017, she graduated from Myanmar Maritime University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture, and began her environmental career at Myanmar Koei International Ltd. Much of her work revolves around conducting environmental impact assessment, public consultation, and capacity building. With great passion, she has volunteered at various local and international non-profit organizations and advocated for social justice, wildlife protection and environmental conservation. 

Throughout May’s Practicum Project, she engaged in the legislative process of SB 707: Responsible Textile Recovery Act by doing legislative tracking on related bills, supporting coalition building, and educating the public on producer responsibility. She also supported CPSC's textile pilot projects for fiber identification and material circularity.  May also earned a specialization in Climate Change Science & Policy. Beyond project contributions, May shared her insights on the link between textile sustainability and health to YMyhealth, an online platform dedicated to healthcare stories for Generation Y. She highlighted the impact of fast fashion on our health and the significance of sustainable textiles for both health and the environment.
