Bio
Casandra Cortez graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles and worked with a waste hauler as a Recycling Coordinator. There, she developed an interest in waste management and plastic reduction strategies. Most recently, she was a CivicSpark-AmeriCorps fellow with the City of Culver City working on multiple projects, including the Ballona Creek Revitalization Project, the polystyrene ordinance amendment, and the Culver Boulevard Realignment and Urban Stormwater Project. Casandra is interested in pursuing planning opportunities and intends to further her understanding by specializing in City and Regional Planning.
