Bio
Callan Green graduated from Stony Brook University in 2020, with a B.S. in Coastal Environmental Science and a minor in Environmental Engineering. During her undergraduate career, she advocated for environmental issues through her leadership in the Sierra club and volunteer work with the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society. After graduation, Callan wanted to diversify her knowledge of ecological communities. She traveled throughout the country and sought diverse roles in environmental conservation. She supported limnological studies and collected water chemistry data with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, studied forest composition as a forestry technician with NAVFAC Northwest, and carried out fresh water monitoring activities for the Bureau of Land Management throughout California. Currently, she is interested in watershed restoration, pollutant transport, and water policy issues. At UC Davis, Callan plans to specialize in Water Resources Management and/or environmental data science. Her goal is to broaden her knowledge of freshwater systems and refine her problem-solving skills to create solutions that ensure water resource cleanliness and availability for everyone.
