Bio

Antonio D. Johnson is the Director of Planning, Environment, and Right-of-Way for the California Division of Federal Highway Administration, United States Department of Transportation, and a Federal Highway Administration Environmental Justice Working Group member. As the Director of Planning, Environment, and Right-of-Way, Antonio is a California Division's executive leadership team member. Antonio manages a team of transportation professionals in this role and is responsible for transportation planning, air quality, environment, and right-of-way programs in California. Additionally, he is responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring California's risk-based stewardship, oversight processes, and activities. 

Before being named the Director, Antonio served as the Planning and Air Quality Team Leader for the California Division. Antonio has also held the positions of Senior Community Planner for the California Division and Planning and Environment Specialist for the Indiana Division. 

Before joining the federal government, Antonio served as the Transportation Planner for the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) in Little Rock, Arkansas. Before ArDOT, Antonio was the Director of Regional Planning and Research for the Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency in Nashville, Tennessee. Antonio has also worked for Metropolitan Nashville- Davidson County Tennessee Government and the City of Memphis, Tennessee. 

Antonio holds a Master of Geography in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Central Arkansas and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science with a concentration in Political Science and Geography from Tennessee State University.
