Bio
Julia graduated from Oregon State University in 2023 with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences, concentrating in Environmental Policy and Economics, and with minors in Biology and Chemistry. After graduating, she worked as a lead technician in an OSU Environmental Toxicology Lab, managing projects with postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and industry partners. At UC Davis, Julia specialized in Marine Resource Management. She served as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Ocean Climate Lab under Dr. Tessa Hill in Bodega Bay and was a Teaching Assistant in the Political Science Department for two terms. She also served on the EPM Social Committee for two years, first as Legacy Night Co‑Chair and later as Social Committee Chair. During her graduate program, Julia worked with the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation as part of the Fifth California Climate Change Assessment team. Her work focused on synthesizing climate research and supporting the development of the Statewide Summary Report, where she authored several sections. Julia completed her practicum with the nonprofit WILDCOAST, evaluating conservation opportunities for a seamount off Southern California. Through the EPM Policy Clinic, she collaborated with CalCOFI, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and California Sea Grant on marine climate resilience policy and management recommendations. Julia is interested in roles that bridge ocean science, policy, and management, with a particular focus on science translation and marine conservation.
