SF Environment’s Community Partnerships and Engagement Program is hiring a 5642 Senior Community Engagement Coordinator to lead our Environment Now team, develop and lead a volunteer program, and coordinate the Department’s community engagement projects. Environment Now is a grassroots outreach and community engagement team responsible for engaging the public about the department’s programs and supporting residents and businesses with compliance with San Francisco’s environmental policies.
The Senior Community Engagement Coordinator will work closely with all SF Environment program areas to brainstorm, implement, and evaluate community engagement activities and their alignment with the Department’s racial equity goals, covering issues such as zero waste, environmental justice, toxics reduction, climate action, energy, and clean transportation. Training on these subject matters will be provided as needed. Projects will involve collaboration with community-based organizations, volunteers, and other partners. The Senior Community Engagement Coordinator will work to ensure that community initiatives and projects are equitable, culturally competent, and multilingual.
The Senior Community Engagement Coordinator will report to the 0922 Community Partnerships and Engagement Program Manager and will coordinate with a larger outreach team, including staff who work on environmental education, racial equity, marketing, and communications.
