Job Description

The Transportation and Climate Change Division of the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Air Quality Planner/Analyst to join the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Land Use team. The CEQA and Land Use team is a dedicated group of professionals advancing clean air, public health, and climate solutions through technical assistance, project development, and advocacy in the land use and transportation sectors. This position will support implementing policies and actions to reduce emissions, pollution exposure, and climate hazards in the Sacramento region.
  
This position will develop and update key Sac Metro Air District CEQA thresholds and guidance; provide technical assistance to the public, developers, construction companies, and government agencies on air quality and climate issues; assist with the implementation of operational and construction mitigation programs; manage a portfolio of jurisdictions, advocate for policies and actions that improve air quality and climate resilience; and review land use development projects to effect sustainable changes in the built environment.
  
This position performs a variety of professional, administrative, and technical work in connection with the development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment of air quality standards, conditions, plans, and strategies to ensure public and private compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; and performs other related duties as required.
