The Environmental, Engineering, and Planning Internship and Charrette
(EEPIC) program is a collaborative effort between six firms (Ascent, Dudek,
ESA, Fehr & Peers, Placeworks, and Rincon) who are committed to change
through the creation of more opportunities in the environmental and planning
fields for students from unrepresented communities.
In addition to completing a traditional internship program, all interns will get
to participate in the charrette in July (dates are TBD). The 2-week charrette
will focus on a specific project proposed by a city, county, or local agency that
has a planning challenge or goal.
Ascent is currently looking for diverse passionate students who want to
gain experience through a combination of research and collaboration in the
environmental and planning field.
PROGRAM DETAILS
• Internship will be approximately 3-4 months (May/June - Aug/ Sept 2024)
• Paid internship – $27/ hr
• Hours: A minimum of 20 hours per week as determined by internal availability
and company workload.
• You will be required to work in-person at one of our California offices:
Berkeley, Sacramento, or San Diego. Please note, lodging is not covered by
the firms aside from the time spent during the charrette.
• Interns interested in the following or related practice areas will be
considered:
-Urban Design and Planning
-Environmental Studies
-Climate Change/ Sustainability
• The program includes a collaborative 2-week charrette in July working on a
project (travel and lodging will be covered, if needed, during the charrette
