The Regional Coordinator will serve as a program manager to co-design and lead a brand-new Soil Hub for the Sacramento Valley Resource Conservation Districts (RCDs). Resource Conservation Districts are special districts of the State of California. RCDs help people help the land through programs and projects that ensure clean and abundant water, healthy land and air, thriving wildlife and habitats, viable local farms and ranches, and wildfire resilient communities. The Sacramento Valley Region of RCDs includes Butte County RCD, Colusa County RCD, Feather River RCD, Glenn County RCD, Sutter County RCD, Sierra County RCD, RCD of Tehama County, Yolo County RCD, Yuba County RCD, and Western Shasta RCD. The coordinator will support accelerated adoption of climate smart agricultural practices in the region through stakeholder engagement and coordination, education and outreach, regional needs assessments, fund development and policy advocacy. The position comes with a strong focus on applying for grants to help build the technical capacity of RCDs in the region, coordinating among many agricultural partners with overlapping programs, and expanding the statewide Carbon Farming Network comprised of representatives from each district in the region and will report to the Colusa County RCD (CCRCD) Executive Director.
