Climate Change Specialist (Senior Env. Scientist series)

Under the general direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the incumbent will serve as the primary environmental scientist responsible for facilitating the development and updating of scoping plan recommendations for agriculture. The incumbent will ensure that, within the capacity and authority of the Department, the Department implements those recommendations in addition to performing a variety of analytical, interagency coordination, and stakeholder engagement duties related to climate change, including agricultural adaptation. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate leadership skills, work independently to plan and prepare environmental studies, reports, and projects; apply scientific methods and principles; exercise good judgment and make sound recommendations; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; organize, prioritize, and manage workload; work well under pressure; and meet required deadlines.
