The City of Santa Cruz currently has two full-time vacancies for the position of Environmental Programs Analyst I/II in the following departments: 1) Customer Assistance Section of the Water Department, and 2) Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The Environmental Programs Analyst I/II oversees, and coordinates one or more environmental programs in support of City services and operational activities, such as waste management, resource recovery, storm water management, or water customer assistance; performs field inspections and surveys; performs research and analysis, writes reports, grants, correspondence and a variety of other materials; develops and implements or administers programs; and performs public outreach regarding assigned programs.
Customer Assistance Section of the Water Department: The Environmental Programs Analyst in Water Customer Assistance is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering programs aimed at assisting low-income utility customers. These programs include the Low Income Household Water/Wastewater Assistance Program, the Payment Arrangement Program, and the Low Income Water Efficiency Program. This position requires a high degree of both technical and interpersonal skill to both administer programs and provide assistance to customers. The position will coordinate work with Customer Service staff on a regular basis, so the ability to work well with a team is paramount.
