Junior Public Works Engineer

Junior Public Works Engineer is the entry-level class in this series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents perform a variety of professional civil engineering assignments. With experience and on the job training, the work becomes progressively more diversified and difficult and requires increasing independence of judgment. This class is distinguished from Assistant Civil Engineer in that Junior Civil Engineers work under direct supervision, receive training and are expected to gain the proficiency to successfully advance to the Assistant level.
