The Yolo County Innovation and Technology Services Department is recruiting for one intern to assist with a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) project. Responsibilities may include creating or editing spatial data using ArcGIS Pro, creating or editing data in the field using ArcGIS Collector, Survey123, or Workforce, creating or updating maps. Applicant should have completed college coursework in GIS and be familiar with ArcGIS Pro. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive for field collection projects. The Intern selected for this position will be expected to commit to a schedule of twenty to forty hours per week, based on their schedule availability. Depending on availability, this position could last for up to six months or until the completion of the project. Hourly salary placement will be made dependent on experience. This is Extra Help position. Extra-Help employees are temporary employees who provide coverage for periods of limited duration and are paid on an hourly basis.
The work of interns in intended to supplement - not supplant - the work that would be done by a regular County employee. The County will work with the Intern to earn academic credits from their College or University. It will be the Intern's responsibility to find out what the College/University requirements are to earn those credits and communicate that information to the County in order to coordinate that partnership.
