Marshall Evans

Marshall Evans graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies. As an undergraduate, he took part in environmental restoration and monitoring projects with the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration and the USDA Forest Service, monitoring the restoration of the North Campus Open Space and tracking the effects of forest fires on Steelhead Trout populations in the Los Padres National Forest. Eventually finding a passion for science communication, Marshall became a learning assistant to aid in the teaching of natural sciences. After graduation, Marshall took part in conservation and science communication efforts, working with Clemson University’s Department of Plant Industry to monitor and cull Yellow-Legged Hornets in South Carolina. While in the state, he worked with the Port Royal Sound Foundation to educate the public on the local freshwater and saltwater environments. Marshall’s passion for applied science to benefit all has led to interests in green building, environmental planning, and nature-based solutions. With interests in sustainable systems and climate change science & policy, he hopes to learn how he can best make a positive impact on his community and the larger world through the UC Davis Environmental Policy & Management program.
