EPM Annual Legacy Night Celebration

Annual End-of-Year Gathering

The Environmental Policy and Management Social Committee hosted its annual spring celebration, Legacy Night! This end of year event has become a wonderful night to bring together EPM students, alumni, faculty, and friends to celebrate the enduring legacy of the program.

This year’s theme was inspired by the coastal influences of California, with the inspiration of the ever-changing, but persevering, ocean reflecting the strength of our very own students. With this theme in mind, guests reflected the various hues of the ocean, marine life, and coastal seaside energy!

This year’s event was held at the International House Davis and hosted about 65 attendees. Dinner was catered by El Burrito Taqueriaand a dessert contest was held with participating students. Our winner, Miya, brought handmade vegan cake pops, alongside many other creative desserts. Our guests participated in our wonderful trivia, hosted by social committee members Nico and Anna, where guests answered various questions on ocean-inspired topics, EPM, and environmental knowledge. Throughout the night, everyone enjoyed catching up with each other and snapping group pictures in front of our themed backdrop!

In keeping with EPM tradition, we held a Legacy Night raffle, with the donated items coming from our very own students. Showcasing hand-made items from sewn pouches to original artwork, the raffle event brought our students together in friendly competition.

This event brought everyone together in fun and creative ways, with the efforts of the entire EPM Social Committee, especially our Legacy Night Chair, Emeline Tu. This annual event is a moment for everyone to recognize the community we have built around the environment we care about, and will continue for years to come!

“It was extremely fulfilling to see EPM students, faculty, and alumni come together to celebrate our program’s legacy. The blend of personality and creativity in everyone’s themed outfits, potluck desserts, and raffle contributions provided a snapshot of the incredible community that makes our program what it is!”
