Job Appointment: Full-time, Limited Duration. Persons appointed to limited term positions will be designated as limited duration employees whose appointment shall not exceed two (2) years except for the extension of grants or funding from outside sources.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. An alternate schedule may be available.

Position Summary:
The City of Portland’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is seeking to fill a limited-term Clean Industry Coordinator position (Coordinator III) within the Climate Policy program area. The Clean Industry Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Clean Industry Community Program. This new $20 million initiative within BPS is funded by the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF). The Clean Industry Community Program will award grants to projects that reduce industrial emissions, air pollution, and waste, while delivering meaningful benefits to communities adjacent to industrial districts and creating pathways for workforce and contractor development. The Clean Industry Coordinator will work with closely with partners from business, government, community-based organizations, higher education, and workforce development to implement the program.
What you’ll do:
- Provide day-to-day project management of $20 million clean industry grant program in collaboration with six core partners. Monitor ongoing activities and progress toward key milestones.
- Coordinate program partner activities, including facilitating recurring meetings, regular check-ins with partner organizations, and working on shared deliverables or milestones.
- Support all program partners in meeting key deliverables, including but not limited to business engagement, community benefits, program development, communications, workforce development, and implementation of decarbonization projects.
- Support industrial business grantees in project development, implementation, and data collection to ensure progress towards decarbonization and community benefits milestones.
- Work closely with Sustainable Economy and Just Transition Analyst to support overall clean industry strategy.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with local clean industry stakeholders such as business groups, government agencies, and community-based organizations.
- Manage invoicing, payments, and contracts between BPS and partner organizations.
- This position will report to the Climate Policy manager in BPS.
