Kulsum Hussain

Kulsum earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a focus on conservation science and policy. She possesses practical experience in conservation initiatives and served as a restoration intern at Younger Lagoon Reserve. Additionally, she participated in the Native Plant Program within the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum & Botanical Garden, which cultivates native Californian flora. Kulsum has comprehensive knowledge of native Californian plants and has been involved in counting native seeds for the Conservation Seed Bank as part of the California Plant Rescue (CaPR) program. Her research interests also encompass environmental justice, environmental policy, and resource conservation.
