Job Description

Introduction: The Lava Beds Butte Valley Resource Conservation District (LBBVRCD) is seeking a motivated and organized Project Manager to assist in the delivery of natural resource conservation services to agricultural producers and landowners. This role will provide technical and operational support to the NRCS field office, helping promote sustainable land management practices. This part-time, permanent position offers the opportunity for growth into a full-time role, depending on performance and workload. The LBBVRCD is in a growing phase and has many additional grant opportunities that will provide more work within the year.

LBBVRCD is looking for a hard-working individual with the ability to learn new tasks. The right person could have minimal to no conservation background and learn on the job if needed. General agricultural knowledge is ideal. The NRCS support work will have administrative duties and provide the employee with training to support NRCS efforts with EQIP, CSP, and COTA programs.

Flexible hours:

Part Time: Very Flexible. Example: 4 hours in office 5 days a week -or- 5 hours in office 4 days a week. Between the times of 8:00 am- 4:30 pm. There will be a set schedule made with your preference of times.

Full Time: 8:00 am- 4:30 pm with potential to telework when needed. Or a reduced hourly schedule to accommodate work-life balance, remaining above 32 hours weekly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing technical support to agricultural producers in the planning, design, and implementation of conservation practices under NRCS guidance and supervision.
  • Be a presence in the office for the community to access when NRCS employees are in the field.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data to support resource management decisions.
  • Work closely with landowners, stakeholders, and local communities to ensure effective conservation practices.
  • Coordinate with NRCS teams and other agencies to implement conservation programs and services.
  • Help develop and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to conservation practices and program activities.
  • Assist with outreach and education efforts to inform landowners and the public about NRCS programs and services.
