Help the campus reach its Zero Waste goals and learn more about sustainability. Zero Waste Coordinators work in the UC Davis Sustainability office, and will have the opportunity to develop and implement waste reduction outreach and education programs, collect and analyze data and materials from the campus waste stream, and offer general support to the office through some administrative work. Zero Waste Coordinators will drive University vehicles if required by the assigned project.

Job Duties:
• Inspect and analyze campus-wide waste stream and infrastructure for waste reduction and diversion recommendations
• Coordinate and pick up specific recyclable materials from campus departments throughout the week
• Attend and staff campus events (such as farmers markets, football games, and other tabling events) as a Zero Waste assistant/guide
• Conduct research on campus waste system (which can include handling waste during waste audits in outdoor settings)
• Prepare and present educational materials to promote campus waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting
• Respond to telephone and email requests for information
• Attend weekly staff meetings and meetings with other campus departments for specific projects
• Coordinate and deliver indoor waste bin orders
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
