The Watershed Fisheries Technician will be responsible for supporting a variety of watershed and fisheries restoration and monitoring projects in the Trinity and South Fork Trinity River watersheds of Northern California. The Technician will support managers, partners, and contractors in a variety of capacities including but not limited to: aquatic habitat data collection, identification and survey of aquatic species and their habitat (specifically Chinook salmon, coho salmon, and steelhead), salmonid spawning and snorkel surveys, and deploy and retrieve groundwater, streamflow, and temperature monitoring devices. The Technician will support watershed restoration implementation (relocation of fish and amphibians, perform topographic surveys, biological monitoring) and landowner coordination. The Technician may also work on a limited basis with affiliated WRTC programs focused on youth education, forestry, wildlife, botany, meadows and outdoor recreation.
