Primary Responsibilities

 

In the role of Water Resources EIT, we'll count on you to:

 

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state, and local clients.
  • Water Resources EITs typically work on technical analyses and design tasks related to riverine modeling, reservoir operations, habitat restoration, hydraulic systems operations, hydraulic structure performance, erosion countermeasures, flood risk, sea level rise, coastal restoration, and water conveyance systems.
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and perform water resources studies.
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or similar (e.g. environmental engineering),
  • Must have strong communication skills (e.g. written and oral),
  • Must be skilled user of Microsoft suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills,
  • Must have strong analytical skills,
  • Must work well both in group settings and independently,
  • Be very motivated to start a career in water resources engineering and planning with an attitude and commitment to being an active employee owned culture participant

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering - water resources, or similar (e.g. environmental engineering)
  • California EIT. Candidate without their EIT license will be called a Water Resources Coordinator and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Some working experience in water resources engineering, hydrology, and/or hydraulics preferred but not required.
  • GIS experience, geospatial analysis experience
  • Experience with hydraulic or hydrologic preferred HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-ResSim
  • Computer programming language experience preferred: Python, VBA, etc.
  • Local candidates preferred

The expected compensation range for this position is $67,320.00 - $91,080.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
