Job Description

About the Role:
Watershed Protection Division staff are responsible for a wide range of surface water resource management and protection activities. This role requires a detailed understanding of stormwater/flood projects, systems, and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits governing such activities. Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Conducting and coordinating implementation of NPDES compliance actions.
  • Evaluating program implementation outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Preparing and coordinating the preparation of required compliance reports and program documents, ensuring timely submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Developing and managing consultant contracts, reviewing consultant products for quality.
  • Coordinating continuously with NPDES Copermittees and regulatory agencies to ensure effective compliance actions.
  • Planning and coordinating public education and outreach activities related to water quality protection.
  • Analyzing environmental legislation/regulations for impacts on municipal operations.
  • Responding to inquiries and complaints from regulatory agencies, municipalities, and the general public regarding water quality concerns.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
