Job Description

The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) is hiring a limited term Analyst III to serve as Tribal Stewardship Program Analyst to develop resources to support short and long term tribal stewardship of conserved lands across California. This position will support the CNRA in developing a recommendation report for innovative policies, programs, and procedures to support tribal stewardship pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 71453 (AB 900, Papan 2025), CNRA’s Tribal Stewardship Policy, and the goal to conserve 30% of California’s lands and coastal waters by 2030 (30x30)

 

This position will help estimate the backlog and future stewardship needs of tribes in California, review stewardship best practices for tribal conserved lands for improved outcomes and cost-effective measures, research and support building out tribal ecological workforce needs for tribal stewardship, review co-benefits of tribal stewardships, develop innovative ways to support ancestral land return, and increase consultations and partnership with California Native American tribes, support tribal stewardship, including access and collaboration.
