The Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR) is a comprehensive state planning agency that serves the Governor and his Cabinet as staff for long-range planning and research. OPR was created by statute in 1970 and has various functions, including the operation of the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program and coordination of statewide environmental monitoring. The Extreme Heat and Community Resilience program was created to support statewide heat planning, special projects and a new grant program.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role located in Sacramento, CA, with a requirement of at least two days a week in the office. The Senior Resilience and Adaptation Planner (Extreme Heat) will be responsible for leading and managing projects related to climate adaptation planning, specifically focusing on extreme heat, including managing the grant program. The Senior Planner will analyze and develop recommendations for strategies that support equitable, resilient communities in the face of extreme heat events and will collaborate with stakeholders across California.
