As a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide guidance, technical direction and training to staff who perform the following work: analyze, develop, and implement regulations, policies, and legislation, review notifications, reports, and other information submitted by regulated persons to comply with the Safer Consumer Products (SCP) Regulations; collect, maintain, and evaluate large, complex data sets related to products, chemicals in products, and supply chains; conduct technical reviews of scientific literature and data to identify chemicals and consumer products that pose hazards to people or the environment; and assist with AA report review, compliance determinations, enforcement activities, and regulatory response development
- Sponsor program-level projects and mentor team members to ensure the effective implementation of Project Management best practices in all areas of the SCP program;
- Recruit, hire, train, develop and provide leadership to staff
- Comply with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, bargaining unit contracts and policies in all personnel practices, including, but not limited to, hiring, employee development and management
