Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist)

As a Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) you will have the opportunity to perform one or more of the following activities:

• Lead program-level projects and mentor team members to ensure the effective implementation of Project Management best practices in all areas of the SCP
• program;
• Conduct technical reviews of scientific literature and data to identify chemicals and consumer products that pose hazards to people or the environment;
• Review notifications, reports, and Alternatives Analyses submitted by regulated persons to comply with the Safer Consumer Products (SCP) Regulations;
• Analyze and develop regulations, policies, and legislation;
• Collect, maintain, and evaluates large, complex data sets related to products, chemicals in products, and supply chains;
• Evaluate and determine compliance and develop and implement enforcement activities and regulatory responses;

Working Conditions

A hybrid telework schedule may be available for this position.This position can be located at the Sacramento Headquarters Office, Sacramento Regional Office, Berkeley Regional Office, Chatsworth Regional Office, or Cypress Regional Office.
