Job Description

The Hughes Lab at Northeastern University's Coastal Sustainability Institute invites applications for a Lab Technician position located at the Marine Science Center in Nahant, MA. The Lab Technician will work in collaboration with PI Hughes and other lab members on a range of projects, so interested applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our research. This work focuses on seagrass, salt marsh, oyster, and mangrove ecosystems and falls under the following focal research areas: (1) ecological effects of genetic diversity in marine foundation species; (2) marine eco-evolutionary feedbacks and their restoration implications; (3) socioecological effects of changing marine biodiversity. The Lab Technician should be committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM. They will coordinate laboratory, greenhouse, and field logistics for the Hughes Lab. They should be interested in being trained in new skills and techniques as needed. Driving to field sites in the region (CT, RI, MA, ME) will be expected during the field season. Some degree of remote work is possible, though the majority will be in person
