Job Description

The Project Coordinator will coordinate and oversee fuels reduction projects implemented by contractors and perform a variety of natural resources-related tasks.  This position requires a person who can work effectively in a collaborative environment, is self-directed, is comfortable working independently, and can motivate themselves and other staff to maintain a high level of work quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

Duties:

  • Assist in proposal development for future projects (Grant/Agreement writing).
  • Design and implementation of forestry and fuels reduction projects, including prescribed burning.
  • Preparation, award, and oversight of project contracts.
  • Participate in personnel performance evaluations of subordinate staff.
  • Oversee heavy equipment operation.
  • Complete on-site inspections to evaluate progress and project compliance with plans, specifications, and overall objectives.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities, including instructions and change orders.
  • Provide oversight for crews during implementation.
  • Ensure equipment logs are maintained, and implementation materials are acquired.
  • Create project maps and prescriptions.
  • Conduct project monitoring to evaluate results and trends, and recommend improvements to project designs.
  • Develop detailed reports and presentations for projects.
