Job Description

Sierra Foothill Conservancy is an innovative and growing organization with programs that serve to conserve, steward and engage people with land in our central Sierra service region. We are seeking a Program Associate to join our dynamic team. The Program Associate works with Sierra Foothill Conservancy’s operations and development staff to assist with the implementation of community engagement programming, serve as the primary representative for the Mariposa office, perform behind the scenes project and program analysis, communications facilitation and more. This dynamic position will contribute to educational programming, general office management, and development program support. The work is diverse and will be based in the Mariposa office, but travel throughout our 4-county service region will be occasionally required. This position reports to the Development and Operations Directors.

This is a non-exempt full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work, primary work hours will be Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. We anticipate that a wide range of candidates could be a good fit for this dynamic position, both highly experienced and entry level individuals are encouraged to apply. Compensation dependent upon experience, we expect that compensation will range from $21-$27/hour with opportunity for growth.

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with land conservation and stewardship, particularly the mission and vision of SFC
  • Organized and self-motivated with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs, provide project support, take initiative and be resourceful
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking and adaptability
  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse group of people including state, federal, tribal and non-government resource and education professionals, working lands producers, and the general public
  • Technologically savvy, especially a high level of proficiency with MS Office Suite and Excel

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in place based & inquiry-based youth education programming
  • Volunteer management experience
  • Background and experience with social media, marketing and communications
  • Experience with database management, particularly Raisers Edge
  • Project management and grant writing experience
