Your Impact: In our team, you will lead the research and analysis of policies to reduce the public’s exposure to toxic chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze Federal, State, and Local legislation, administrative policy, and budgetary proposals related to emerging environmental health issues, provide policy recommendations and support strategy development and implementation.
  • Identify new advocacy issues and opportunities based on emerging scientific research and/or contaminants of concern, particularly around toxic chemicals, plastics and petrochemicals, to protect consumers from endocrine disrupting chemicals and other environmental hazards.
  • Represent CEH in strategic collaborations to position the organization as a national leader.
  • Help craft clear and compelling written and visual communications to scientists, policymakers and the public to advance advocacy priorities, including blogs, fact sheets, comments on proposed rules, and testimony for public hearings, reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with lawyers, policy advocates, scientists, and other stakeholders to critically review and draft regulatory language and comments on proposed legislation Manage CEH sign-on to letters in support of policy that elevates our work.
  • Partner with other environmental organizations and with health-affected and community groups from diverse cultures, backgrounds and scientific and technical understandings:
    • Coordinate meetings and testimony (in-person and virtual), events, roundtables, and other dialogues to disseminate information and facilitate policy work
    • Draft agendas, prepare presentations, and create meeting materials
    • Execute other administrative tasks.
  • Provide project management support to CEH program teams, including organizing and managing various work streams and projects – from start to finish – to ensure tasks are completed, objectives are achieved, and timelines are met.
  • Facilitate production of documentation related to discovery with CEH legal counsel and consultants, and sign verification documents for discovery responses.
  • Build or strengthen relationships of trust with public officials and other government agencies and stakeholders to educate and advocate on key issues.
  • Participate in fundraising activities including meeting with donors and foundation staff, speaking at donor events, and contributing to proposals and reports to funders.
  • In partnership with communications team, increase leverage among external decision-makers and their influencers to increase political power and build CEH’s national profile and impact.
