Oceanographic Instrumentation Technician

Organization
Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC)
Job Description

My oceanography team at the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) is growing, and we are recruiting a new full-time Oceanographic Instrumentation Technician. This job may interest students and alumni of the Coastal and Marine Science Institute at UC Davis —could you please help pass the word about the opportunity?

The CRITFC Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction program maintains an observation network of buoys and dock-based stations that track the physical and biogeochemical properties of the Columbia River estuary and plume, contributing to NANOOS. We seek a mechanically inclined Oceanographic Instrumentation Technician to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be someone with excellent troubleshooting skills, experience working with biogeochemical sensors and/or working on boats, and excitement for ocean observing. This position will be based out of Astoria, Oregon, with starting pay of $53,000-$55,000/year.

The full job posting and application instructions can be found here. Potential candidates are welcome to reach out to me (rgradoville@critfc.org) or our lead oceanographic technician, Andrés Salazar (asalazar@critfc.org), with any questions.

Best,

Rosie
