Job Description

The employee will work closely with local residents, contract operators and Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs), Feather River Resource Conservation District (FRRCD), the PCFSC Board of Directors, Plumas Corporation staff, Firewise volunteers, CAL FIRE, and other state and federal agencies.

Project Management Duties

Hazardous Fuel Reduction project management duties for various projects on private lands:

  • Outreaching/advertising the program, returning phone calls and email inquiries
  • Conducting site visits with contract RPFs, and independently, as needed
  • Ensuring necessary environmental compliance is completed based on project needs (CEQA/NEPA)
  • Developing and soliciting operator contracts for program implementation
  • Coordinating with landowners to execute landowner agreements
  • Ensuring operations are conducted according to specifications
  • Conducting post-project inspections and approval of operator invoices, as needed
  • Documenting before and after photos and other program metrics
  • Providing regular updates to program participants, ensuring effective communication about project status
  • Grant reporting and administration
  • Project development, budgeting and grant writing
  • Attending bid tours for proposed projects and responding to questions from contractors
